WebIt says here that the reviewer never did any side quests. As a writer myself, what I think happened was the original Earthlock, before this update, lacked development. The main plot line was poorly written & characters were just vessels. To add the extra meat to the main plot, it would require an entire script rewrite. WebI bought it at launch out of curiosity at launch (the 10% off launch special was nice too I guess) and was surprised at just how much I enjoyed it. Turn based gameplay was solid, storyline turned out to be decent and had a nice twist towards the end.
