I already have the shaft out, so replacing the boot wouldn't be too much more trouble, but I'm frugal and don't want to waste money on a boot kit if there is a suitable repair. You’re probably better off replacing the 1/2 shaft. I’ve done the replacement-it’s not a bad job.
