Northern ireland act
The Northern Ireland Act 1998 is an Act of the Parliament of the United Kingdom which allowed Westminster to devolve power to Northern Ireland, after decades of direct rule. It renamed the New Northern Ireland Assembly, established by the Northern Ireland (Elections) Act 1998, to the Northern Ireland Assembly. Northern Ireland Act (with its variations) is a stock short title used in the United Kingdom for legislation relating to Northern Ireland.
